Lemon Peel Tea Recipe

Ingredients

  • Peels from 2–3 organic lemons (yellow zest only, no white pith)
  • 3 cups water
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon honey or a pinch of cinnamon for flavor

Instructions

  1. Wash the Lemons: Scrub lemons thoroughly to remove any dirt or residues, especially if non-organic.
  2. Peel Carefully: Use a peeler or knife to remove the yellow zest, avoiding the bitter white pith.
  3. Boil Water: Bring 3 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan.
  4. Infuse Peels: Add lemon peels to the boiling water, reduce heat, and simmer for 10–15 minutes to release their compounds.
  5. Strain and Serve: Strain the tea into a cup or jug. Add honey or cinnamon for taste, if desired. Enjoy warm or chilled.

Consumption Tips

  • Drink 1–2 cups daily, ideally starting with a cup in the morning on an empty stomach to kickstart digestion and detoxification.
  • Store leftover tea in the fridge for up to 2 days; reheat gently or serve cold.
  • Pair with a balanced diet and hydration for amplified benefits.
